Poem: Oscar the Grouch
October's poem is a throwback to an old poem I wrote, roughly seven years ago, about Sesame Street character Oscar the Grouch.
Oscar the Grouch
In secondary seasons
Orange peels to green
Canadian dry, (tongue of a duck)
On pours the rain, hurray for muck!
Fluffy, Slimey, treasure pets
'Neath yon wormy elephant
Underworld of garbage truck
Left alone, inestimable junk
Our loves are, oh, so difficult;
Is it your OCD,
Collective madness,
Or misery,
Makes you just like me?
