Poem: Insta Love Poetry

A cento is a “patchwork” poem comprised of lines from other poets' poems with only some punctuation changed. I post new centos periodically to share what I'm reading and keep the creative wheels turning. Citations follow each poem. This is April 2020's installment:

Insta Love Poetry

"You," he said, "are all that is delicate."

"LOVE ME!" I write.

"Make me a meal that tastes like a promise
in the fireplace of my stomach
to fill the empty parts of me;
my finally-loved body is not [ONLY] yours to touch -
I am both war and woman and you cannot stop me!"

In the silence I think about tomorrow.

Today, I see in a new light;
the sun feels so very familiar . . .

I loved you so hard that I softened.

Citations are a little unusual on this one as most of these lines were posted as snippets of untitled poems on Instagram so I am citing only each Insta Poet's handle and the date of thier post unless more information is given on their page.
